The Security Service was the secret police of the New Republic. Formed in 6 ABY, it was created by the Chief of State to watch the Jedi and enforce laws across the galaxy. It was considered to be a cruel agency that went as far as to kill it's own citizens to complete it's objectives. The New Jedi Order even had open fights with agents of the Service. The organization worked closely with the New Republic Investigative Bureau and the New Republic National Police.
