Having been betrayed by the Griffons, the Galactic Empire planned to crush the Alliance, targetting Cochran first. The Imperial fleet attacked the planet, but was unable to break through the planetary shields. Despite inflicting massive losses on the Griffon fleet, the Imperials withdrew from the system and prepared to target Pride-1, but were delayed with the advent of the Imperial Civil War.
