Elayne Trakand, Birgitte Trahelion and Aviendha are walking to Elayne's apartments to dry off after getting soaked in the rain. Reanne Corly meets her in a hallway and mentions that one of the sul'dam admits to seeing weaves and now insists she should be collared as a damane. Elayne proposes to send her back to the Seanchan as evidence that sul'dam can channel. On their way they gather up Reene Harfor, who suggests, like almost everyone they encounter, that they get out of their wet things.
