The Fiend Dragon is an enemy in Final Fantasy IV: The After Years. Fiend Dragons have the capability to inflict major Lightning-elemental damage through the use of Thunderbolt and can reduce the party's HP to single digits with the use of Maelstrom. In addition, Fiend Dragon can counter all non-Summon magic with Dark Breath against the party for moderate to major non-elemental damage. They will follow a pattern of Attack > Thunderbolt > Attack > Maelstrom, and then will start the pattern all over again. It is therefore vital to defeat the Fiend Dragon before their 4th turn to prevent Maelstrom from happening.
