Romy Baskerville was born in Essex and trained at the Rose Bruford College of Speech and Drama and The Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She first appeared on television in 1978 as a jury foreman in the Granada Television series Crown Court but in the interim appears to have concentrated mostly on stage work rather than television with The Threepenny Opera, The Ruling Class, Equus, The Hostage, Macbeth, King Lear, Romeo and Juliet, Night Must Fall, Bingo and The Tempest, and radio work with various plays and adaptations including Naked In The Sun, Marriage Blanc, Pere Goriot and Hulme Stories.
