William Morris (1834-1896) was a nineteenth century designer, artist and writer. He was a poet, designed stained glass and tapestries. Mr. Morris was a founder and partner in the firm of Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. This firm produced furniture, stained glass, tapestries, metal and glass work, carpets and more. Frank Lloyd Wright was influenced by Mr. Morris' designs. Mr. Morris was not formally trained as an architect. He participated in many different forms of design including wallpaper, typeface and poetry.
