The Spirit Revolt was a revolt that occurred at an unknown time in 2005. Causing widespread destruction and death in London, as well as the complete decapitation of the British Government, the Revolt was perpetrated by several resentful spirits, mostly afrits and djinn. Eventually, the Revolt was suppressed by the magician John Mandrake, with the aid of the commoner Kathleen "Kitty" Jones and the djinni Bartimaeus.
