The Ranger-class Patrol Ship was built with the Antarian Rangers in mind. It had a profile which allowed it to be used for the purpose of scouting and monitoring systems of trouble, carrying insertion teams into a warzone, patrolling space lanes or acting as pickets and skirmish units in major battles.
