An Airgun was a type of airship that was used by the rival factions Open and Closed during the Open-Closed War. Airguns consisted of a gondola suspended by ropes and cords beneath a large buoyant airbag and were the primiary airship design used by the Open. During the mission to Carnelion IV in 29 BBY, Jedi Padawan Anakin Skywalker, a gifted mechanic, spliced together an airgun from a crashed Open airbag and a scavenged Closed gondola, creating his own airgun.
