In South Korea, there is an online gaming league called E-sports (Electronic sports). It is a thriving community where many players can play competitively amongst each other. South Korea also has many professional players which are fit to compete at a tournament level either at home or abroad (after all, the winners of the last Global Championship were two South Korean males). It can be said that South Korea is at the world's highest level. In order to have all players experience the strongest level of play, the tournament will be held in South Korea.
