The 1986-87 Ottawa District Intermediate Playoff champion was the Smiths Falls Rideaus. In the 1986-87 Eastern Canada Intermediate Playoffs, they defeated the OHA champion, Durham Huskies, three games to one in the semi-finals. They lost to New Brunswick champion and eventual Hardy Cup champion, the Miramichi Packers, in the final, four games to one. There is no further information on the district playoffs itself.
