Andrew Readman (born 7th June 1948 in Folkestone, Kent) appeared on Coronation Street in December 1995 and January & April 1996 as DC Cannon, the investigating officer when Steve McDonald was arrested and ultimately charged with handling stolen goods. He returned to the programme in July 2015 as Ed Ramsey, boss of Newton & Ridley rep Dan Jones. With a fifteen-month stint with the Royal Shakespeare Company, he appeared in productions including Henry V, The Merchant of Venice, Richard III, Melons, The Desert Air and SUS. Away from the camera he runs his own stonework business, The Stone Works.
