Neville Scott Longbottom (born 30 July 1980) was a pure-blood wizard and son of Aurors Frank and Alice Longbottom (née Hamilton), veterans of the British Wizarding Civil War. His mother died in the later stages of the conflict when she was tortured and killed by Death Eaters by order of Lord Voldemort. His father remarried Mary Macdonald and through that marriage, Neville gained two half-siblings; Jake and Charlotte Longbottom. Neville began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in 1991 and was Sorted into Gryffindor like his stepmother.
