Construction of the Halcyon was completed on reference stardate 2/9310, in the latter part of the 2350s decade. This vessel was commissioned at one of the two shipyards that produced Paine-class vessels, either Deneva Shipyards or Gibraltar Shipyards. The Halcyon was recorded as being lost, whereabouts unknown, on stardate 2/9706. (FASA RPG module: Star Trek: The Next Generation Officer's Manual) It is possible this ship was named for Halcyon, an inhabited planet located in the Alpha Baratis star system. This world was mentioned in an earlier FASA publication, FASA RPG module: The Federation.
