Yang Huai (onyomi: Kō Hai) is a general loyal to Liu Zhang. He and Gao Pei were tasked with guarding Boshui Pass from Zhang Lu's army until Liu Bei caught them off guard. Refusing to surrender, they were both executed under the excuse of being discourteous to Liu Bei. The novel has him conspire with Gao Pei to fake their surrender and kill Liu Bei, though the farce is exposed due to Pang Tong's insight. The two of them are then beheaded for their treachery.
