Isaiah Matlock was a Grayson citizen and a soldier of the Grayson Army. He was the son of a forestry ranger and came from a family with a centuries-long forestry tradition. Holding the rank of Sergeant in the Harrington Steadholder's Guard, he served as the personal armsman of Alfred Harrington, the Steadholder's father, from 1922 onward. (HH13)
