When you mouse-over the gold dots, it will reveal what type of ore the vein will yield. Note that this skill shows ALL mineral viens, regardless of the Miners ability to actually mine them or not. Bright gold dots indicate that the vein is on the surface. Dull gold dots indicate that the vein is underground in a cave or dungeon, unless you are also underground, in which case they will show as bright gold.
