When the Violet Column of light appears of the Loric horizon, many assume that it is a Herald created by the Elders in time for the Quartermoon festivities. However, Orkun was one of those who were suspicious and joined a few council members who decided to scope out the column and investigate - it is unclear what their findings were. She cancels Rapp and Sandor's classes for the day in order to make the trip and assigns them to Grid maintenance. Orkun is killed, along with Rapp and Daxin and the many others at the Defense Academy, when the Mogadorians target it in their first wave of missiles.
