At its most basic, the task of the Liaison Service of the International is to ensure that the International does not get attacked by other alliances. To achieve this end, the Liaison Service has evolved two basic strategies: obtaining mutual defense treaties with friendly alliances, and maintaining an open door so that alliances can contact the International at any time should a situation arise.
