The Rosters of Republic/Imperial heroes were two rosters that listed many renowned and legendary heroes, one of Galactic Republic heroes, and later, one of heroes of the Galactic Empire that evolved from it. The Republic roster was often on the HoloNet during the Clone Wars, displayed on holo-ads, and distributed in pamphlets and booklets to an adoring public, but was shut down by the Emperor after the rise of the Empire in 19 BBY. The Imperial roster was similarly popular, though it was shown on Imperial Holovision, a pro-Imperial replacement for the HoloNet. After the fall of the Empire in 4 ABY and the fall of Coruscant two years later, records of both rosters were recovered by the New Republic and kept for historical purposes.
