Following the disaster, a number of changelings grew disillusioned and abandoned the courts. The community still has a higher percentage of courtless than many freeholds. Most of the courtless are accepted members of the freehold, though they tend to find less opportunities for advancement, since most of the freehold's power remains with the courts. A substantial fraction are Margraves, living just outside of the city proper. With the area's main trod lying in the middle of the freehold's territory, Spring's End's Margravate gets a bit more interaction with the freehold than many do. While there are no credible reports of violence, there are still plenty of rumors that courted changelings would do well to avoid lingering too long in the Brim.
