The Tomo Craters were located on the planet Vanqor in the Uziel system. Formed by an ancient meteor shower—thousands of years in Vanqor's past—the Tomo Craters were part of the world's vast areas of rugged terrain that included also deserts and high plateaus. In this dry, remote section of the planet marked by deep craters and fissures, the planet's expansionist government, under the rule of Van-Ith, created a detention facility—"The Tomo Camp"—which retained prisoners from other worlds in the Uziel system, planets that had been invaded and conquered by Vanqor.
