Motes are small units of Essence used to power magical effects. Spending Motes from the peripheral Essence pool cause the Anima Banner of an Exalted to appear. It is regained by rest and relaxation or more quickly in an attuned Manse, by carrying an Hearthstone or with an active Cult.
