The RG2570EX features a basswood body bolted to a maple neck with a 24-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with deluxe sharktooth position markers. Components include two DiMarzio/IBZ humbucking pickups flanking a DiMarzio/IBZ single coil, an Edge Pro double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut and Gotoh tuning machines. The RG2571EX is a similar model with a hard-tail bridge. The RG2570EXL is a left-handed model. In 2004, the RG2570EX was visually updated with a new finish and hardware. In 2005, it was replaced by the RG2570E.
