The Master Crystal is a powerful crystal that was found by Dr. Cortex at the beginning of Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. One year later, Cortex brought it into the new Cortex Vortex, but he still needed the remaining twenty-five "slave crystals" from the planet's surface in order to fully power the device. After the Cortex Vortex was destroyed, it is not seen or mentioned again in the game. It has not even been mentioned or seen since, and as such it was possibly destroyed when the Cortex Vortex crashed into Uka Uka's prison at the beginning of Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped.
