The M-60 Patton is a Main Battle tank designed and manufactured by the United States of America. It was a continuation of a long line of tanks designed in the United States that started with the M-26 Pershing tank. It was first produced in 1960 and was the first main battle tank used by the United States Army. It was widely exported being used by 23 other nations besides the United States. It was retired from United States service after the arrival of the M1 Abrams, although being used alongside the Abrams for about 10 years, in the early 1990s althoguh some remain in reserve.
