Pulmonology is the medical speciality dealing with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the respiratory tract. It is a branch of internal medicine and is most commonly found in intensive care. A specialist in the field in the United States is a pulmonologist, although respirologist is used in Canada and respiratory physician in the rest of the British Commonwealth.
