Hikozō was Danbo Momochi's friend. He faces Taichi and his dog out of their way to Momochi's trust. Later, simply washes his face, he hears the sounds of battle from the mountains and rushes to see what is going on. He sees Hakutaka and Ōzaru fighting Koga ninja dogs against. He pulls out his sword and joins the battle to help Iga ninja dogs. He slips on the grass, but continue to struggle. Taichi and Hakutaka arrive at the scene, Hikozō prohibits them from joining the fight.
