Amanyar (Quenyan for 'Those of Aman') for is another name for the Calaquendi ('Elves of Light') (with the exception of Thingol, who was not of the Amanyar) as opposed to the Úmanyar 'Not of Aman'. Those kindreds who settled in Aman or descended from them were also referred to as High Elves, or "Tareldar".
