Zack Taylor was chosen by Zordon to be the Black Ranger of the Power Rangers, and was given the powers of the Mastodon. Since there was no Black Thunder Crystal, Zack was given the Green Thunder Crystal and could power up to Thunder Mode and wield the power of the Lion. Zack is the only Ranger that changes color when he uses Thunder Mode.
