Formed during the start of the Clone Wars, the 11th Battle Group didn't rise to prominence until the start of the Galactic Empire, when command was given to High General Teron Helstone. Under Helstone, the 11th soon became unofficially known as the Pitiless Battle Group, both because of the flagship Pitiless and as an apt description of Helstone's tactics. Unlike most fleets which have a clear division in duties between space and ground forces, Helstone commands both in the 11th with unchallenged authority.
