The Diviner Disk, also known as a Splinter Bomb, was a weapon developed by HYDRA from the abilities of the Obelisk, which Skye's father has stated is called "the Diviner" in its native tongue. It was originally designed by HYDRA in the 1940's by a scientist named Vincent Beckers for the Red Skull. However, these most recent versions were built by a Japanese demolitions expert, Toshiro Mori. These disks duplicate the Obelisk's effect on human tissue, causing it to disintegrate in a matter of seconds.
