The Alexander Technique bases on the premise of wholeness, or how FM Alexander called it, psycho-physical unity. Although we can construct a linguistic division of body and mind, we can neither experiental nor experimental separate mind and body. Descartes error, however, prevails in our society and leads, amongst other things, to what modern psychology calls body-mind disassociation.
