Tarkon was an Elean soldier and a devout worshipper of Ares. He was fighting in a campaign against the Spartans when Hercules tried to stop the war by creating the Olympic Games. Tarkon prayed to Ares for help and the demonic god turned several of Tarkon's soldiers into Mesomorphs. Tarkon feigned interest in the Olympics and then released the Mesomorphs at the games to create havoc. He and his men were defeated by Hercules, Atalanta and the Spartans.
