The type 4 Tallonian microscanner was a type of microscanner manufactured by the Tallonians. The primary use of this sensor device was for determining the purity of Tallonian crystals. In 2372, Worf informed Odo that Quark had made arrangements for acquiring one of these microscanners, which led him to believe that the Ferengi was attempting to acquire said crystals.
