Poppy Mayfleet is Lina's lovable younger sister, and is about three or four, a toddler. In the City of Ember, Poppy chews up the Instructions to get out of Ember, so when Lina and Doon try to get out, they must guess on some words. In the People Of Sparks, she falls sick, but later recovers. Poppy does not appear in the Prophet Of Yonwood, and is a minor character in The Diamond of Darkhold. Lina and Poppy's father died of a coughing sickness and her mother died giving birth to her. When their grandmother passed away, Poppy and Lina went to live with their neighbor, Evaleen Murdo.
