Hi Buzz Crew! I was listening to the podcast of episode 1414 and the short discussion about the Apple’s rebranding of Intel’s Light Peak technology. I agree with Molly and disagree with Brian about “”not being a big deal”". A brand is a promise and an identity. People identify brands and have an expectation about it, good or bad. Apple had a problem with other manufacturers taking their software technology and creating Mac clones years ago, saying “”that damages our brand and what our customers expect from Mac OS and Apple computers”", so all the Mac clones disappeared soon after that. So, why is Apple rebranding a technology that’s not theirs?
