Throughout Habbo's history, the ban system has been changed several times to increase the effectiveness of bans. Specific reasons for bans have been created, which corresponds to the player's offence(s), and therefore, determines which ban he/she will get. As a side effect from The Great Mute in 2012, bans were updated significantly to incorporate mutes into the system more.
