Matt Lauer, born 1957 in New York City, is currently the anchor of The Today Show on NBC. A former student at Ohio University, he began his career in local television and bounced between various networks, eventually settling at WNBC-TV in 1992. He officially became anchor of The Today Show in 1994 and has announced to continue the job until 2011.
