Shōin Yoshida (吉田 松陰, Yoshida Shouin) is a legendary Samurai of tremendous wisdom and power, serving as the general (大将, taishō) of the Mune Province in the Samurai Country. He was the mentor to Mifune and several other significant warriors of the Land of Iron. He is known for having opposed the wars conducted by the Shinobi, subsequently being responsible for the Land of Iron's political neutrality prior to the Fourth Shinobi World War. Despite his military background, Shōin is regarded as the finest instructor of the swordsmanship arts. It is known that he was closely associated with Seireitou Hyūga during the latter's time spent in the Samurai Country. Shōin currently serves as an independent ally to Konohagakure.
