Hailing from Wayne, Pennsylvania, Garbarino graduated from the University of South Florida with a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts. In 1983, he moved to New York where he took jobs as a performance artist, sculptor and costumer. In 1987, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he began his career in special effects makeup. [3]
