Ellen Drew, is the mother of Simon, Jane, and Barney Drew. It is through her that the family knows Great-Uncle Merry. Although she calls him an uncle, he is an old family friend. Ellen Drew is an artist, specifically a painter though she has a friend who is a sculptor.
