Mouth(VRRF156) was born in the Rascals in September 2012. Her parents were the dominant couple Sancerre and Grus. Mouth's litter-mates were VRRM154, Hush (VRRM155), VRRF157 and Brangy (VRRM158). They were the last litter born to Grus. A month later Grus died leaving the dominant male position to natal-males. Despite losing their father the pups survived their first four weeks and started foraging with the adults. The Rascals were a good size month however the pups were born during a drought. Both VRRM154 and VRRF157 were lost within the next few months. Mouth, Hush and Brangy survived their first three months. Sancerre lost her next litter leaving Mouth and her two remaining brothers as the youngest members of the group. In Janaury 2013 Hush disappeared followed by Brangy in July. Sancerre
