Having spotted what she thought was Arthur Thomas's stolen DS online, Laurel Thomas contacted the seller online to request to buy the console in person. She got Paddy Kirk to drive her to the address in Hotten and then confronted the woman, Doris who claimed she was selling it for her grandson. She told Doris that the DS was stolen, believing her grandson, Dean, to be the carjacker but then realised upon seeing him that she was mistaken.
