The colonization of Lurberas by the Lurs occurred during the early 15th century, beginning with the first Lur voyage from the Kingdom of Reon in 1409. Ethnic and religious persecution and economic hardship all contributed to the motivations to leave Reon for what is now Lurberas. A group-funded effort succeeded in purchasing the Jusena, the ship now famous for carrying Lur colonists across the Zerhaldic Ocean to Lurberas under Captain Yunsas Venonis' command.
