The Rust Bird, also known as the RustBird, is an enemy from Final Fantasy III, fought on Dragon's Peak. As a flying enemy, it is weak to Wind. Rust Birds are extremely rare and for good reason: The player can steal a valuable Phoenix Down from them. They are amongst the more dangerous enemies in the area, since their Glare attack inflicts Confuse on party members, and they can be found paired with Fireflies, which usually attack with magic, making it more difficult to cure those afflicted by the attack. It is highly advised to defeat Rust Birds quickly if possible if the player is not trying to steal Phoenix Downs from them.
