Students will be asked to think critically about the educational, political and social systems that affect them, while learning participatory decision making skills and steps to ‘transcommunal coalition building’ to combat the fragmentation of diverse people, communities, and organizations. Through exploring and practicing the concepts of Transcommunality, Participatory democracy, and Non-Violent Communication we hope to promote a more socially conscious, connected and aware student body. This will provide students with the practical tools so that they can use their knowledge to create bridges amongst diverse communities and to generate positive personal and social change.
