Originally known as La paroisse de Trois-Rivières, the municipality was renamed Trois-Rivières-Ouest in 1963. The Service des incendies de Trois-Rivières-Ouest ceased to exist as of January 1st 2002 with the amalgamation of the city of Trois-Rivières with the City of Trois-Rivières.
