Triton is the son of Poseidon in Greek mythology and god of sea creatures. Triton is often depicted as a merman with a conch shell. According to legend if Triton blew in his conch the sound would calm the waves. Triton fathered a divine race of merpeople with shark-scaled skin and dolphin-like tails called the Tritons.
