Verses 16-18 of Genesis 22 is cited three times in the original Resident Evil, which quotes them in its Pass Codes. Genesis 22 is named the "Binding of Isaac", and describes Abraham's attempted sacrifice of his son, Isaac and his ultimate rejection on the then-common culture of human sacrifice on Yahweh's orders. The three verses are Yahweh's promise to Abraham that his descendants would one day become a great power.
